Girls selling birds to release – Pak Ou Cave, Mekong River, Laos

Our boat docked at the base of the Pak Ou Cave on the Mekong river. As we walked up the steps to the cave there were 6 teenage Lao girls selling small birds in bamboo cages. We purchased one and entered the cave. Our group made wishes for our loved ones and I released the bird from the cage. The girls were bursting with smiles as they applied their bird selling skills to the visitors.
