A city of 7 million people, Hanoi was once the heart of French Indochina, and the French influence is still clearly visible today in their architecture. The streets are filled with local people selling their goods. I walked around the Hoan Kiem Lake where hundreds of locals were all dressed in celebration clothes, getting their picture taken for the upcoming holidays. I did very well with faces and smiles.
